Rubicon Scenics Wargaming Terrain
After seeing too many miniature wargames let down by sub-standard terrain I set out to develop a range of realistic, useable and, above all, affordable terrain, suitable for all gamers.
At the heart of this idea are the "baseboards", on to which "markers" can be placed, defining what type of terrain the baseboard represents for that particular game. The markers can then be moved out of the way to accomodate units of troops, meaning no more miniatures perched precariously (and unrealistically) on the tops of boulders, bushes and trees!
Used without the baseboards, the markers are ideal for skirmish games, providing small areas of cover for individual miniatures. They also look good scattered around your gaming table to break up those large flat expanses!
All of our handmade terrain pieces are based on hardwearing, yet lightweight, 0.5mm plasticard. This makes our rivers and area features very slimline and means they won't tower unrealistically over your wargames table and miniatures. Each piece is hand painted & realistically textured before being finished with static grass and/or scenic bushes appropriate to the piece.
Due to the manufacturing process, no 2 pieces are identical, guaranteeing that you will recieve a truly unique scenic item to enhance your battlefield!
Unless otherwise specified all of our terrain is suitable for use with 15mm & 28mm miniatures.
River Terrain Pack 1 - RS001 - £14.99
This set consists of 6x 8 inch realistically curving "straight" river sections giving you 4ft in total; enough to span the average 6'x4' wargames table. Each section is 60mm wide with the water course approximately 40mm wide The sections can be arranged in a multitude of different ways, meaning that this river will present different tactical challenges in every game.
River Terrain - S-bend & 45 degree bends - RS006 - £3.99
This set consists of 1x 8.5 inch realistically curving S-bend river section & 2x 45 degree bend sections Each section is 60mm wide with the water course approximately 40mm wide These pieces are designed to be used alongside the River Terrain pack (RS001), bringing more variety and tactical challenges to your games.
River Terrain - Bridge Section 15mm - RS005 - £12.99
This set consists of 1x 8 inch long, gently curving, straight river section & painted bridge. This piece is designed for use alongside my other river sections. The resin bridge is by Hovels and is painted to a very high standard and finished with static grass and scenic bushes. The bridge is 15mm scale; approximately 130mm long and 40mm wide, but would also work with 10mm or 20mm miniatures. The bridge is removeable for storage/transport.
Area Terrain - Enclosed Fields - 15mm & 20mm - RS009 - £13.49
This item consists of 1x 9inch x 9inch enclosed field terrain piece, depicting 3 areas of cultivation. The different areas are enclosed by realistic looking hedgerow, and a small section of hurdle fencing. The areas have been finished to represent a recently planted area, a field of stubble/straw and a section lying fallow.
Suitable for use with 15mm & 20mm miniatures
Terrain - Straight Road sections - RS010 - £7.99
This item consists of 6x 8 inch long straight road sections, giving you 4ft of road in total.
Each section is 35mm wide and can be used as an unsurfaced road at 15mm scale, or a dirt track at larger scales. Designed to be compatible with most popular Ancient & mediaeval rule sets.

Area Terrain Feature Baseboards - RS008 - £7.49
This set consists of 2x Area Terrain Feature Baseboards. Each realistically shaped board fits within a 12inch diameter circle, making them normal sized features for the Field of Glory rules, or 1 Feature Equivalent (FE) for DBMM/DBM.
These boards are painted in a realistic ground colour to match my river sections (RS001), and are finished with patches of static grass. They can be used as is to define open areas, but really come into their own when used in conjunction with my Rocky Ground, Jungle or Marsh markers to define areas of rough ground etc.
River Terrain Pack 2 - Arid Finish - RS002 - £14.99
Essentially the same as River Pack 1 (see above) , this pack is finished in an Arid colour scheme, making it ideal for representing rivers in North Africa, the Near & Middle east, as well as areas of the Spanish Peninsula.

Rocky/Broken Ground Markers - RS003 - £8.99
This pack consists of 5x rocky/broken ground terrain pieces (1x large and 4x smaller pieces). The large pieces are approximately 4 inches x 2 inches, and the smaller pieces 2 inches x 2 inches.
Used in conjunction with my terrain baseboards (available seperately) these pieces can be used to represent areas of broken ground.terrain feature. They also work brilliantly with skirmish type games,

Jungle Palm Trees - RST001 - £9.99
This pack contains 9x 90mm tall palm trees, comprising 4x bases containing 2 trees and 1x base with 1 tree. The bases are textured and painted to match my standard terrain range and have been finished with static grass and scenic bushes. Ideal for representing the lush jungle terrain found in Vietnam and other areas across SE Asia as well as the Indian sub-continent.
